This project is located in Jiangxi Province, in southeastern China, which is rich in natural resources, particularly mineral resources. To date, a wide variety of economically viable minerals have been discovered throughout the province. 160  species, there are 5000  Multiple mining areas. Among them, the proven reserves are 101  Species listed in the reserves table include: 96  species, already has 1106  a mining district. Jiangxi Province boasts vast copper reserves that are relatively shallowly buried, allowing for the recovery of substantial amounts of associated minerals during mining operations.

Introduction to the Current Status of Tailings Storage Facilities:

Dexing Copper Mine since 1958 Over the years, preparations have been made to develop the copper mine area, with the Sizhou Concentrator and Dashan Concentrator being constructed in phases. The Fujia’wu mining area, as a successor mine to the Dexing Copper Mine, has been 2003 Construction commenced in [year]. All tailings generated at the Dexing Copper Mine are discharged to the tailings storage facilities for deposition. To date, three tailings storage facilities have been constructed: Tailings Storage Facility No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4. Tailings Storage Facility No. 1 has already been closed, while Facilities No. 2 and No. 4 are currently in operation. The majority of the mine’s tailings are disposed of at Tailings Storage Facility No. 4, with the remaining capacity in Facility No. 2 reserved for emergency discharge of tailings from the Sizhou Concentrator.

The No. 2 Tailings Pond of the Dexing Copper Mine is located on the southern bank of the Le’an River at the original site of Tongbu Village, approximately 2.5km , approximately from the Tongchang mining area 7km It primarily stores the tailings discharged from the Sizhou Concentrator of the Dexing Copper Mine.

Since the tailings pond No. 4 has 1991 year 2 After the completion and commissioning of the No. 4 tailings storage facility, all tailings from the Dashan Concentrator are now discharged into it. In the early stages of operation of the No. 4 tailings storage facility, some of the tailings from the Sizhou Concentrator were discharged into both the No. 2 and No. 4 facilities; however, due to difficulties in constructing and raising the dam at the No. 2 facility, these tailings are now predominantly discharged into the No. 4 facility, with only occasional discharges to the No. 2 facility. 

The inflow to the No. 4 Tailings Pond at the Dexing Copper Mine primarily consists of tailings slurry carried in from the concentrator and atmospheric precipitation, while the outflow mainly comprises recirculated water from the concentrator, evaporation, and overflow from the pond’s flood-discharge outlet.

2022–2040 During this period, the Dashan Concentrator discharged all tailings except for the sulfur-concentrate tailings, which were sent to the tailings pond at the downstream end of Pond No. 4; the Sizhou Concentrator, on the other hand, discharged its tailings directly into Pond No. 5.

The recycled water from the Dashan Concentrator is conveyed via the aforementioned recycled-water facilities to the original No. 4 Tailings Pond’s recycled-water system for the Dashan Concentrator. 4、 5 inches The return-water pressurization pump station utilizes the existing return-water infrastructure to boost pressure and deliver water to the original elevated water tank for use by the Dashan Ore-Dressing Plant.

Tailings Pond Recirculation : Mineral-processing wastewater is discharged along with the tailings slurry to the upstream and downstream tailings classification stations; a portion is conveyed with the fine tailings sand into the tailings storage facility, while another portion is sent with the coarse sand for dam construction. The mineral-processing wastewater contained in the fine tailings sand, after mixing with atmospheric precipitation and recirculated water from the seepage-control pond and undergoing natural sedimentation and other treatment processes, is then reused in the mineral-processing plant and for tailings classification.
