Water quality: Exposed on the water surface, subject to rain exposure; standing water in open pits is acidic and contains impurities.
The floating platform is constructed from a composite material consisting of HDPE high-density polyethylene, a 304 stainless steel deck, and a 304 stainless steel platform, balancing corrosion resistance with structural strength. Specifically tailored for the -100 m open-pit mine at the copper processing area of the Dexing Copper Mine, each custom-designed floating pump station platform measures 4.21 m × 6.71 m and can be flexibly configured and joined together as needed.
The floating platform is equipped with ten single-stage, double-suction, horizontal split-case pumps of model DYS10-4—five operating in the forward direction and five in the reverse direction—under an “8-in-use, 2-on-standby” operating configuration to ensure continuous drainage.
Key components of the pump housing are manufactured from highly compatible materials: the wet-end parts and the shaft are made of 2205 duplex stainless steel, which offers excellent acid resistance and wear resistance; the valves and the fluid-contact materials are made of 306L stainless steel. This material selection ensures optimal performance under the mine’s demanding operating conditions, including open-air installation at water surfaces, exposure to rain, and operation in acidic, impurity-laden water.

Performance parameters: rated flow rate of a single pump is 550 m³/h.

Head: 118 m,

The accompanying motor is rated at 4 poles, 280 kW, 690 V, IP55, and Class F insulation, enabling reliable long-term operation in outdoor environments.
