The Jinshan Gold Mine is located in the eastern part of the Jinshan Gold Mining Field, in Huqiao Town, Dexing City, Jiangxi Province. The Yangshan Tailings Pond is situated in a ravine within Jinshan Village, to the southeast of the mining area. The Yangshan Tailings Pond is a valley-type tailings pond. The tailings pond water includes wastewater generated by the ore-processing plant, primarily consisting of concentrate thickening and filtration wastewater, tailings slurry, wastewater from flue gas treatment (including dust removal water from the crushing and screening sections), and water used for ground cleaning.

Return water method

A floating return pumping station is set up in the tailings pond area, located on the dam-side inner side of the pond. Ore-processing wastewater, in the form of tailings slurry, is pumped into the tailings pond via pipelines. After natural adsorption and sedimentation in the tailings pond to achieve clarification, the clarified water from the upper layer of the tailings pond is pumped back to the plant’s elevated water tank via a return pipeline for repeated use.

Real-time monitoring of reservoir water levels to eliminate the risk of overtopping. Industrial wireless control system and ultrasonic level sensors in the tailings pond monitor the liquid level in the reservoir.

4. Corrosion-resistant material

The system platform is based on corrosion-resistant, high-molecular-weight, high-density HDPE modules, upon which customized steel equipment installation platforms meeting specific corrosion requirements are constructed. The materials for the flow-path components—such as pump units and piping systems—on these platforms can be tailored to select corrosion-resistant materials specifically designed for the application.
