Chemical process pumps are a general term for various pumps used in chemical production. These pumps have high power, high speed, small size, simple structure, and are easy to maintain. However, they operate at high temperatures, are prone to wear, and have a high maintenance factor. Therefore, maintaining and servicing these pumps can be relatively difficult. To reduce the frequency of major repairs, it is essential to perform proper maintenance and upkeep of the equipment.

In chemical or petrochemical production, pumps operate in high temperature, low temperature or ultra-low temperature, high pressure, flammable, explosive, toxic, and highly corrosive media. The characteristics of chemical process pumps are that they can work under high inlet pressure, high lift, and high viscosity. Operating under low flow and high cavitation conditions imposes very strict requirements on the performance of chemical pumps, especially regarding corrosion resistance, no leakage, and wear resistance. To meet the special requirements of chemical production, the chemical machinery industry also specifically manufactures chemical pumps such as plastic pumps, glass pumps, ceramic pumps, graphite pumps, shielded pumps, magnetic pumps, and impurity pumps.
Advantages of chemical process pumps:
1. The impeller can be closed, semi-opened, or opened. It can transport clean media containing particles and a small amount of gas. It can also transport high-temperature, low-temperature, and highly corrosive media. The impeller is equipped with balance holes and corrosion-resistant rings to balance axial forces.
2. The pump body and bearing frame are connected by an intermediate connection part. Depending on different working conditions, the intermediate connection part can be made from different materials to avoid severe corrosion of the bearing frame and bearings when transporting highly corrosive media. At the same time, the intermediate connection part is equipped with a water cooling chamber through which cooling circulating water passes to prevent high-temperature media from transferring heat to the bearings.
3. The sealing forms can include packing seals, single-end face and double-end face mechanical seals, as well as box-type single-end face mechanical seals. Depending on different conditions and user requirements for cooling and flushing, seals can be selected from the casing according to API682 design specifications.
4. The bearing frame is designed in three forms: air-cooled radiators, air-cooled fans, and water cooling chambers. Users can choose based on working conditions. Bearings are lubricated by spraying thin oil from an oil ring in the oil tank. The oil in the tank is cooled by water in the water cooling chamber, and heat from the bearings is carried away by cold water to ensure that the bearings remain in normal working condition.
5. Depending on the temperature and pressure of the medium, support forms use central support and tripod support.
